Do you need expensive art supplies to create a beautiful drawing or painting?

Please do not let the lack of having expensive art materials stop you from creating. I am in the process of creating a pencil drawing entirely with a No.2 pencil - yep, the same pencil that you will find in many a classroom. Attach is the work in progress!
